Today GACKT and Akiyoshi Kumiko joined us at the Hamano set, and wonderful footage was born.
The picture was taken from yesterday's Noro scene which took a day to film. We managed to get the best quality footage.
The Noro's costumes, songs, dances, and prayers too are of world-class level

Today's film location. Tomorrow an even more spectacular beach of Yaeyama awaits. All the staff, and cast members are energetic, increasingly, the desire for a great production grows.
Lead actor GACKT's acting skills too had some ingenuity added in, and his power of expression has become an art.
In the earlier half, heroine Kimura Ryouka brilliantly acted out the biggest highlight.
Great weather continues daily. Looks like our time in Okinawa will continue cranking up at this rate.

This morning I looked at the moon in the Motobu Peninsula, I saw the sunset from the hotel in the island.
I feel so happy
White is the close-up color in Kāranukan.
The key is the sun, God, Nirai-Kanai *, it is the symbol of transformation and regeneration.
White will appear in the movie in its own way, transparent, the movie is ruled by life and love.

Karanukan movie synopsis
The internationally acclaimed photographer Ooyama Hikaru was taking a series of photos of a beautiful girl, Ishigaki Maumi, against the backdrop of Okinawa's Yaeyama islands's scenery. During a photoshoot under a beautiful waterfall on Iriomote Island, all of a sudden, a strong beam of sunlight hit Ooyama from above the waterfall, and he was momentarily blinded. Before he knew it, Maumi had mysteriously disappeared... It has been 4 years since then, and Ooyama continues to search for the girl who disappeared deep in Yaeyama. While going into Yaeyama and searching for Maumi, he was touched by the impressive nature and artistry of Okinawa. At the same time, Okinawa's beautiful scenery, which has never been depicted by anyone thus far, was captured in pictures. And, once again he caught sight of Maumi's shadow. Ooyama realises his strong feelings of love for the woman who has grown in his thoughts. Why did she suddenly disappear? Was it a dream, or could it be the river God「Karanukan」...

Movie『Karanukan』starring GACKT, films at Okinawa's Emerald Beach
The「Nirai Kanai Fire Festival of the Sea」event, which was also in conjunction with the filming of the movie『Karanukan』, where GACKT will be a movie lead character for the first time in 14 years, was held on the 15th at Okinawa’s Emerald Beach at the Ocean Expo Park.
On this day, around 1000 spectators were gathered, and a live event with the filming of the cast members was held. During filming, sabani (boats that were used in ancient Okinawa) left the coast and raised torches, and the events of the festival, along with the live event at the festival venue, were filmed.
Also, during the「8th Okinawa International Movie Festival 」held in April, Kimura Ryouka, the female lead actress and heroine for this movie, was picked at the final audition. Kimura, who faced the scene where the protagonist Ooyama Hikaru (GACKT) was searching for the heroine undercover at the festival grounds, said cheerfully「Because I come from a background of performing on stage for rhythmic gymnastics, I’m really nervous. But I’m really looking forward to it」, as she looked back on the filming.
Also, appearing as a performer for the live event was Jazz singer Marlene, who celebrates the 35th year in her career. She performed the theme song for this movie,「Ai ni Nare」. She then shared her feelings on the live event, saying「Like me, the Okinawan audience express their feelings honestly, so singing was enjoyable. With the release of the movie, I would hope that more people get to listen to it」.
Director Hamano Yasuhiro said,「This movie, is a story of a man who awakens to true love as he enters his 40s. Without the nature and rich culture of Okinawa, I would not be able to depict this love so, people who are tired of society should definitely watch this」, showing his confidence in the completion of the movie.
The movie『Karanukan』is scheduled for release in 2017.

GACKT stars in a lead role for『Karanukan』, a romance movie set in Okinawa's wilderness!
It has been revealed that musician GACKT will be starring in the movie『Karanukan』, which is set to be released in 2017.
This film captures the extremely vivid images of rivers, waterfalls, and the sea from Okinawa’s Yanharu and Yaeyama, while weaving in Okinawan culture into a pure love story surrounding the “River God” which brings supreme happiness. Hamano Yasuhiro, who is also a lifestyle producer, will be the director, while GACKT will be acting as internationally-active photographer Oyama Hikaru.
With regards to accepting the role as a main character, GACKT enthusiastically commented「I emphatise with Director Hamano’s commitment to his work, and his world view. As an Okinawan myself, I would like to show everyone Yaeyama’s nature through this movie. And, as a person of expression I will deliver the best work there is to everyone」.
Also, auditions are being held for the heroine who will be GACKT’s partner. The deadline for applications has been extended to 29 February, and is currently in progress. The final selection auditions will be held between 21 (Thu) and 24 (Sun) April during the「- 8th Okinawa International Movie Festival-」which will be held at Okinawa.
