Nikaido Fumi×GACKT『Tonde Saitama』, Teaser Poster & Trailer Revealed

It has been announced that the movie, “Tonde Saitama”, which involves GACKT and Nikaido Fumi as co-stars, will be released on 22 February 2019 (Fri). A teaser poster and trailer for the movie has been released together with this announcement.

“Tonde Saitama” is based off Maya Mineo’s manga of the same name, which was released back in 1982. In addition to the movie’s story set in a fictional Japan where Saitama, Chiba, and Tokyo are engaged in “a battle without honour”, Nikaido Fumi acting in her first male role while GACKT’s unexpected role of a high school student has drawn much attention as well.

As this production portrays a lot of dissing of “Saitama”, in the teaser poster, Nikaido Fumi’s Dannoura Momomi and GACKT’s Asami Rei appear on it with the message, “We apologise to everyone in Saitama for turning this into a movie”. In addition to that, scenes from the movie were also revealed for the first time in the trailer that was released. In this video, where even a shocking line like “You can even feed the grass over there to the people of Saitama Prefecture” is delivered, Kato Ryo, who played the protagonist in the stage play and movie adaptations of “Patarillo!”, can be seen acting in the role of a “Saitama Prefecture native who dreams of working in Tokyo”.
