GACKT Official blog update. Translation below:
In the morning, I finished my preparations for departure.
I’m going back to Japan while still jet lagged but I don’t know whether this jet lag will continue after I get back…
I wandered around a street called Sunset.
It’s a place that I used to stay in all the time when I was 26.
The shops along this street has changed quite a lot but
I could feel that the street’s atmosphere itself is the same as usual.
When I first came here
I thought that Los Angeles was a place where there were lots of flashy and eccentric people…
That hasn’t changed even now.
Of course, it’s not that the whole of Los Angeles is like this, it’s just this area that feels especially so.
Since daytime, there will be a lot of people wearing dresses at the areas where celebrities gather.
There are also a lot of women who wear dresses that makes it look like their chests are overflowing.
This impression hasn’t changed even after 18 years.
At night, I met my friends, who came over from Japan to Los Angeles, for dinner.
They said that they came to Los Angeles to compete in America.
Life is far shorter than we expect.
If you want to challenge something you should do it,
and most of life’s regrets are because one was unable to move due to being afraid of the possible outcomes.
I would like them to do their best.
From there, we went straight to drink, and in the end, we drank at home until morning
and greeted dawn as we were.
It’s the first all-nighter in awhile.
Halfway, I thought of going back to the hotel but
regardless of what I did, I’d have to wake up in the morning so
I stayed up all night, then headed straight back to the hotel to pick up my baggage, and then went to the airport.
7 a.m. drew close.
This Torrance is in the complete opposite direction from my hotel but
I’m thankful that I have friends who can fool around with me like this until morning.
Upon arriving at the hotel, I got my luggage and checked out,
then headed straight to the airport.
It feels like I’ll fall asleep if I sit.
The horribly long line for the check in counter made me feel sick.
I looked at the situation for awhile and waited for it to empty out but it didn’t look like it’ll decrease all the way.
Somehow, I got my check in done and headed to the security gate but
there, I saw a queue that made me feel even worse.
I wonder if the Los Angeles airport really has no intention of managing this at all.
There aren’t many countries that make you spend over an hour just for security checks.
In Los Angeles, this continues on even at night.
While half conscious, I remember somehow getting into the plane but
when I woke up and realised it, I arrived at Narita.
I slept for an abnormally long time.
Upon arriving in Japan, I headed straight for a dinner but I didn’t have any jet lag at all.
Maybe this forced cure for jet lag is unexpectedly effective…
Maybe the next time I go to America, it would be better for me to stay up all night without sleeping then board the plane.
Seeing Roppongi’s night scene for the first time in awhile, it’s not bad.
I’m looking forward to tomorrow morning.
If my jet lag is gone, I’ll train from morning with a clear head.
Alright, it’s already 3 a.m..
After I do a little more work, I guess I’ll lie down for a bit.
