GACKT Official Blog update. Translation below:
This time, to watch Camui Gakuen’s Fukuoka Branch’s Gakuen Fest,
I made my way to Fukuoka but
last night, I had drinks with my Fukuoka friends for the first time in awhile.
Since I don’t really come back to Japan,
times when I meet my local friends and eat with them
or drink with them like this are truly precious times.
Maybe it’s because I had a little too much,
but I woke up feeling not too great
and then I received an infuriating message frm Camui Gakuen’s Student Council President.
“If the rehearsal’s fine too, please have a look <3”
Exactly why
he wants me to start watching from the rehearsals onwards, I have no idea but
I prepared to head out and went to the venue.
When I entered the venue, the executive committee welcomed me in.
As we’re being careful,
they stated that they would let me watch the rehearsal from the back
and so I watched them from the PA seat.
This is something that always comes to mind but,
the impression that the Camui Gakuen students leave is rather different from the usual,
but their seriousness, I suppose, exceeds your expectations and probably is more suited to be called earnestness…
I often feel that they’re of that type.
Especially when you consider it from the normally playful attitude of the Student Council President,
his actions in doing whatever he wants,
and that feeling of not holding back at anyone,
you really can’t help but think that it’s really unusual that
the other students can seriously rehearse like this.
Right until its just before performance time,
I was able to see that all the students wanted to make it better than the previous performance.
I really have to bow down to their single-minded attitude despite that they’re high school students.
The Gakuen Fest begins,
and as always, F9’s performance where they put their lives on the line is funny.
Maybe it’s because they’re giving their all in playing around that makes it funny.
Honestly,
I’ve not really spoken to the members of F9 but
they make me think that they’re always facing things seriously.
Or is that only because they fear the Student Council President…
The SEX JAPAN performance started and
compared to the last time, their unity in the performance has gotten better.
I could hear that the sound has changed quite a lot.
The tension from the Student Council President was high today too.
I could hear that the songs felt pretty good too.
Hearing such a performance makes me wonder if they’re really high school students…
This quality is seriously terrific.
What they’re performing are covers of famous songs but
their playing and performance ability is no different from a pro’s.
Even watching it as a show, their level is rather high
and I suppose you can say I’m saying this without favor.
The Balue Hearts part in the later half too
was executed with a pretty good feeling.
In the Gakuen Fests in the past
the Balue Hearts are simply planned to be for fun so
it made me think that in the end it’s just a connecting performance… but
from this time’s Gakuen Fest onwards, they’re raising their profile quite a bit.
The quality is pretty high too.
This time, due to the constraints of time, I was only able to watch up till here but
after leaving the venue,
again, I had quite a bit of time on my hands like before.
I’ll visit the next one at Nagoya too.
I suppose I might as well make time to go.
This year’s Gakuen Fest is of a completely different quality than that of the last one.
I’ll try adjusting my schedule.
A hint of my live might be found.
I have to go and meet my Nagoya friends after such a long while too.
