GACKT Official Blog update. Translation below:
I woke up after around 2 hours of sleep.
Yesterday, in the timespan of an hour, I finished around 10 bottles of tequila with my friends,
and from then on, I can’t remember
how many more bottles we emptied until 5am.
An uncommon smell of tequila hung over the shop,
and it was so strong that I wondered if the place would catch fire.
Honestly,
at the end of it, everyone became weird and got crushed.
I was pretty done in too but
I welcomed the morning in a good mood, maybe because of the good sleep I had.
After preparing in the morning, I had tea then headed out.
Since we had no time, we stopped the car at the roadside,
and I had tea while zoning out and watching the cars go by.
When we neared the event venue for the film festival,
the place was flooded with people, to the point of being difficult.
Because it was extremely crowded with people, the car couldn’t go in.
I finally arrived.
After greeting the people I haven’t met in a long while in the waiting area,
I soon went to walk on the red carpet.
Probably because it’s also the season for school excursions,
school uniforms caught my eye a lot.
This time,
this is the first time I’m participating in the Okinawa International Film Festival so
I was surprised that it was much more exciting that I expected.
I thought back, and I think it’s only in Los Angeles
among the other countries, that film festivals get this big too.
Surprisingly, the film festivals in other parts of the world
may be just as large in scale, but not necessarily as exciting.
This Okinawa International Film Festival blocked off Kokusaidori
and even tourists were gathering to watch this area
though it might be because they can’t walk down the street.
As the city’s major event,
it is probably considered to be quite exciting for a festival.
From the back, more and more
actors from other movies arrived
and even the red carpet took awhile for me to walk to the end of it because it got crowded.
Even the Q&A sessions with the TV crews and the media
gave me the impression that they were doing it quickly.
I went up on stage,
and took a last photo, then calmed down for the moment.
After that,
I moved off to appear for a program, and had an interview.
France, Germany,
Indonesia, China, Taiwan, Malaysia,
a lot of foreign media were gathered here too.
We even had a Q&A session with a mixture of languages.
My hectic schedule continued on.
Then
I moved again and completed the final stage greeting,
and finally, this long whirlwind of a day ended.
『Ah〜〜〜〜, it’s ended!!!』
and then I hurried to get ready.
I won’t make it for sunset.
I immediately moved out,
went to a restaurant I liked, then zoned out while watching the sunset.
『I made it for the sunset…』
I thought,
and watched the beautiful sunset while drinking.
I really love this luxurious time.
This timing in Okinawa is the best after all.
It heals my fatigue.
Contrary to the hectic daytime,
from here on, a long night begins.
My juniors who happened to come to Okinawa too
contacted me, and the number of people around me gradually increased.
『Anyway, tonight, let’s drink slowly…』
I lost track of time as I spent time with my friends,
and in the blink of an eye, it’s time for the shop to close.
I looked around the shop and found no one.
From here on,
the night will continue further on in Okinawa.
Well then,
anyway, I’ll drink slowly today.
In a way that’s different from yesterday.
I have to be careful.
Even so, nights in Okinawa are great.
Alright, off I go.
