Yesterday, I was pretty busy since morning.
I was unable to do enough home training
and I trained in the filming studio
as and when possible with the staff.
My chest has become quite large.
My face looks smaller.
Well, there’s no change in size though.
A pleasant thing that happened was that
quite a number of shoes from Sketchers were delivered to me.
I was told that I can use it if I liked them
so I tried all of them, putting them on to see which will be the easiest to use.
I’m pretty happy about things like these.
I’ve been using Sketchers since awhile back but
with 10 pairs in front of me I’m a little lost.
Thanks to everyone from Sketchers.
I will use them well.
Just like that, the shoot ended and I went to eat.
Since there’s 【YOSHIKI CHANNEL】 at night,
I have to head to the studio but
since there was quite an amount of time spent waiting,
I ate bit by bit in between but
I ended up drunk in the end.
When I arrived in the studio,
I had a meeting in a rather drunken state.
I noticed that whenever I meet YOSHIKI
both of us are always drunk.
When I entered the studio, my staff were pretty tense.
Whether it’s because YOSHIKI is scary,
or because the staff around YOSHIKI are scary,
well, it’s not clear though.
To me, there’s no impression of YOSHIKI being scary at all.
Of course,
his commitment to things as a professional is stronger than anyone else.
When we worked together to create music and such,
there were definitely times when we butted heads.
However, the usual us
have had the relationship of a troubled, big brother who goes at his own pace,
and the younger brother who’s at the mercy of it
for 10 years.
I thought that I’ll be at the mercy
of him going at his pace again tonight
as I entered the studio.
It doesn’t feel like it’s been a long time at all.
The program progressed at YOSHIKI’s pace.
For this relationship to go well even after 10 years
is a really unusual thing.
I seem to be easily misunderstood by the people around me,
so until around 10 years ago
everyone had the impression that I’m a rather aloof and dangerous guy.
In other words, the music industry,
especially the seniors of the Visual Kei genre
mostly kept their distance from me.
In that situation,
since the time we drank until morning the first time we met,
we soon became as close as brothers
and I started to call him 『YOSHIKI、YOSHIKI〜』
but after awhile,
people were saying 『GACKT doesn’t use honorifics when YOSHIKI-san!』
in other words, the seniors began talking about me among themselves.
Even since we met,
it’s always been like this so
I’ve never had a single doubt about it though…
Indeed, in Japan, where people are strict with hierarchical relationships,
such relationships probably rarely happen.
In fact,
he’s around 10 years older than me.
Furthermore,
I don’t think it’s like this in general but
in Visual Kei, the hierarchical system is exceptionally strict.
In less than 2 weeks after coming up to Tokyo
I’ve gotten into a huge dispute with a senior band,
in other words, the label that 【GACKT is a weird and dangerous guy】
was soon stuck on me.
I wasn’t the type to get bothered by something like this but
since then, at every opportunity,
I began to fight with people who will definitely be considered as seniors.
Even as I thought my personality originally isn’t this argumentative,
I often reflected, thinking that the reason why I’ll definitely be
wrapped up in trouble is because of my short temper.
YOSHIKI expressed that one word 『Interesting!』 to that me,
and like this, for 10 years, he’s been close to me, treating me like a younger brother.
I suppose that’s because of his high tolerance.
This is something that we always talk about when we drink together but
whenever I say 『If something happens, I’ll go first…』
YOSHIKI will then definitely say
『Before GACKT goes I’ll go first!』
arguing back.
When others look at this, they’ll think it’s a silly thing that doesn’t really matter
but I suppose they can see us arguing.
After this and that and whatnot,
the program ended smoothly .
I wonder when we’ll be able to meet again.
Strange as it sounds, even though we’re in this era,
I still don’t use SNS or anything like that to contact YOSHIKI, and we only talk on the phone.
To my, that’s the kind of person YOSHIKI is.
