GACKT Official Blog update. Translation below:
Today, I started rather slowly.
Having had enough sleep, I slowly did my training.
I spent the afternoon having tea.
After reading a book for awhile,
I checked my items and manuscripts from Japan while tidying up.
I’ve accumulated quite a number of pictures too so
for the first time in a long while, I turned on the PC.
Recently I haven’t really brought my PC out much.
All of my work can now be done on an iPad.
Furthermore,
in addition to the mediocrity of the apps,
compared to using the PC, the iPad’s battery lasts much longer.
When it comes to detailed work, if I use the PC,
I have to keep an eye on the battery level but
if it’s the iPad, I can just use a portable battery.
Times have changed a lot.
In the past, I always carried my PC around but
recently I only turn on my PC around once a month.
If it becomes possible to use the usual
iOS apps like the iPad on the laptop,
it would be more user friendly though.
To be able to use iOS apps in my PC,
I added other programs to be able to run them but
honestly, in addition to it being inconvenient, it’s not secure either.
Instead,
I realised that there isn’t much that you can’t do on an iPad now.
After getting that work done,
I slowly made my way towards dinner.
Today, I’m going to have dinner with a friend
who will be celebrating his 17th wedding anniversary today as well.
I drove the Bentley that I love.
It’s a stable car to take it slow in.
Initially, I though that it would be difficult to drive because of how big it is,
but it’s response is good, and when I step on the pedal, it accelerates quite quickly.
Well,
I’m only bothered by its bad fuel efficiency but
if you can ignore that, I suppose you can say that this car is pretty good.
I wrote about this before too but,
the state of KL’s highways are pretty good.
Because the climate is stable,
the asphalt doesn’t stretch or shrink.
Because of that there are very few joints which makes it exceptionally easy to drive.
However, there are problems with it.
For example,
there’s a system called SMART here that’s like Japan’s ETC.
It’s response is exceptionally slow.
There’s no doubt that this is the reason why traffic jams start.
My Japanese friends are working together with the government
to develop a new system in Japan.
If this can be put into use,
I believe that this problem will improve a lot.
The roads normally go from 3 lanes to 4 lanes.
There are even 5 lanes in many places.
This really makes it easy to drive.
Basically, the traffic rules here are about the same as those in Japan.
I suppose the people who can drive in Japan
won’t have any stress here.
The roads in the city
exist at the level of the construction companies.
There’s quite a big difference here.
There are times when indented areas
like manholes suddenly appear.
You have to be careful about this otherwise
there are times when you hear a “don” and get a shock.
But I guess basically, the state of it is quite good.
The part about it that I like the most
is how wide the roads are and how easy that makes it to drive.
In a rather intricate area,
is a restaurant with a nice atmosphere called 『Subak』,
that I’m visiting for the first time.
If you don’t know about this place, you’ll definitely go past without realising it.
The restaurant’s atmosphere is pretty good but
because it’s a Malay restaurant, there’s no alcohol at all.
Well if you ignore that,
the flavours are so-so.
While celebrating his 17th anniversary,
we talked for around 3 hours.
The husband is an architect,
while the wife is a doctor, but despite that
we were able to go in depth while talking about business.
Anyway, it’s really amazing for them to be able to stay with the same person for 17 years.
They say that there have been trying times too but
if there was none of that, it would’ve been weird instead.
Even so, I sincerely think that it’s a really wonderful thing
for them to be able to walk the same path together.
At around 11 p.m., we went our own ways
and after that
I met my other business partners at Westin Hotel.
Since it’s Sunday, we had a roughly
2 hour long meeting at the sofa area.
『In the end, I’m working…』
I thought, noticing the usual me who loves working.
I have to take it even slower.
Tomorrow, I’m going back to Japan.
I have to make sure I don’t catch a cold.
Well, time to sleep.
