GACKT, Shinjuku Free Live Held [Let’s deliver our enthusiasm to Kyushu]

GACKT held a free live in Shinjuku Station Square today April 19.

The live was held in commemoration of the launch of the coffee machine “Nescafe Gold Blend Barista GACKT model” which was created in collaboration with GACKT. Despite that it was an afternoon on a weekday, around 500 fans were gathered, and right before the performance began an odd excitement was in the air around the venue.

Around noon, the band members appeared. Next, when GACKT appeared in front of the audience, a thunderous applause and cheers rang out. Then together with the band’s powerful instrumentals, he passionately performed a number from his new album “LAST MOON”, to be released on 27 April, and brought the audience to a frenzy.

During his MC, he called out, “Having fun? How’s everyone?”, he continued “Did you guys know I, GACKT, have a collaboration with the “Nescafe Gold Blend Barista”? Everyone buy it” he grinned and laughed. He then said “This time, Kyushu had an earthquake and lots of troubling things have happened. I spoke with Nescafe’s staff and the president, and we have decided that all sales proceeds from the GACKT model will be donated in full. Even small gestures count, so do it. Everyone, let’s deliver your enthusiasm to Kyushu” he said powerfully.

According to the staff at Nestle, GACKT’s initiative to donate in full the proceeds form the “Nescafe Gold Blend Barista GACKT model” was suddenly decided yesterday. The sales will go through Japan Red Cross Association, and will be devoted to assisting in reconstruction efforts for this earthquake. The time and the amount of the donation will be announced on Nestle Official Site at a later date.
