GACKT OFFICIAL BLOG: Unfettered rich

GACKT Official blog update. Translation below:

On the way back from sending TAKUMI to the airport,
I encountered a terrible traffic jam out of nowhere.

While staring outside from the inside of my pretty much unmoving car,
I looked back on the past few days.

During the few days since I came back to KL,
my morning training with TAKUMI has become quite substantial.
Training with the hell ball is better after all.

Not only will I be able to maintain the useful abdominal muscles,
there's no other method that is as effective as this
in achieving well-balanced back and ab muscles.

If I don't do it for awhile,
I won't be able to do this in the blink of an eye but
just by continuing with it properly everyday,
regardless of age, you'll become lean
and you'll be able to maintain the important ab muscles.

The cause of the traffic jam caught my eye.
That caused the jam...
I can only hope that no one got injured.
The back of the car is completely gone.
Be thankful for being alive... for having your body.

While slowly tracing the way home,
I tried analysing why the hell ball is this effective.

Normally,
you'd often get back pains if you only work on your abs.
Not only does it destroy the balance between your back and ab muscles,
doing it even slightly wrongly will even hurt your neck too.

With the hell ball, you simply lie down and endure it,
and it will stimulate both your back and ab muscles,
at the same time, your internal pressure will also get raised a lot,
and your waist will quickly tighten up.

When it comes to the difficult part of it,
the only thing is that it's extremely painful... I guess.

With regards to such training,
or practicing self-defense and martial arts,
like cicadas, a lot of outside voices can be heard.

『What are you trying to do?』
『Is that necessary in this era?』
『I want muscles but I don't want to become buff』

There are many thoughts in relation to those voices but
recently, I spoke to my friends,
and there was an interesting discussion that is linked to this so
in any case, I'll write about it.

Firstly,
what kind of meaning does
【RICH -リッチ-】 represent?

Originally, the word 【Rich】
holds the meaning of having abundance in not only the material sense but in the spiritual or mental sense as well.
The word 【リッチ (rich)】 as used in Japanese
is often only used to describe the state of having a lot of money.

So,
let's try and divide Japan's rich people
into two general kinds of rich.

One is the
【fettered rich】

The other, is the
【unfettered rich】

The fettered rich are those
people who have lots of money but are bound by many restrictions,
they are rich people who don't have much freedom.
There are many different things that bind them,
like their company, family, work content, schedule, the opinions of those around them, or status.
Many of Japan's rich fall into this category.

The unfettered rich are those who
not only have monetary abundance, but also when they have time to spend that,
they can go wherever they want,
live wherever they want,
without being bothered by others' opinions of them,
and live their lives however they want to.
In any case, if you live richly, you'll have an unfettered life.

So what about the concept of 【elegance】 which was my theme previously?

Elegance is
having the comfort of being able to possess things or carry out actions
that are originally considered as wasteful, and also having space in your heart.

If I were to try to give an example that makes it easier to understand...
if you simply wanted to live,
you don't need a muscled body.

If it's fine as long as you drive,
then there's no need for a car that can go up to 300 kmph.

If you simply need a place to stay, then a large house isn't necessary.
You don't need cruisers and such either.

Even if it's just to drink a cup of coffee,
you don't need to go to a coffee shop to order one,
you can simply get one from your nearby convenience store.

If you're hungry,
you don't need to specially look for a place with good food, make a reservation, and go there,
you can simply eat cup noodles or instant food.

All these things
are definitely not needed if you just want to live simply.
I can continue giving many more examples like these.

For the unfettered rich,
not only are they able to possess that which is normally considered wasteful,
they also have room in their hearts and can execute wasteful actions,
they have the wealth of being unrestrained by anyone.

There's no need to theorise about whether it's necessary or not.
The problem lies with whether you have the capacity
to accept that.

Of course,
there are also many people around the world who have always had this state of mind and say this.

With regards to those people,
I dare say that there's no need to understand,
neither is there a need to put in effort to get them to understand me.
Because just like how it is when two people speak different languages, neither would get through to the other party.

Anyway, back to what I was initially saying, things like

『I want to build muscles but I don't want to become buff』

are basically weird things to say.
That's like saying,

『I want money but I don't want to become rich』
『I want to become beautiful but I don't want to be popular』

These all have the same contradictions,
and from the perspective of those who are aiming high and doing their best,
trashy people who say things like these wouldn't even be worthy of being told

『Hah?? In the first place, if it's you it's impossible!』

More than anything else, effort is naturally what has to come first,
and from the unfettered's perspective, everything happens for a reason.

There are all kinds of people in this world.
There are those who have complaints for everything.
There are also those who nitpick at everything.
You should leave those people alone.

When you look back at how you lived your own life,
and have moments when you can praise yourself and think
『I did my best』
『I gave it my all』,
I'd say that you're within the sphere of the unfettered rich.

Today, a rather heavy rain poured until evening.
When I glanced over to my bookshelf, a funny sight came to view.

My Eneru got frightened by the thunder and was hiding in the bookshelf.
I guess that's his best way of hiding.

My phone was suddenly spoilt,
and I've been trying to fix it since the next morning but
I ended up spending the whole day just like that.
All in all, it was an enjoyable time spent.

Leisurely spending time like this is unexpectly not bad, I guess.

Alright then,
let's go eat.

GACKT OFFICIAL BLOG: Factories are nice...

GACKT Official blog update. Translation below:

Relaxing times in KL went by.

During these few days,
a few groups of friends came over from Japan.
We held meetings for a new business.
When we had free time, we went to leisurely have tea together or went walking around outside, and enjoyed relaxing times.

After I finished my training, I had a shower.
My body reflected in the bathroom mirror has started to feel a little more like what it used to be like.
Not bad.

Today, I'll be going to have a look at the Lamborghini that I've entrusted to a factory.
In front of the showroom were an Aventador SV and S.
Looking at them like this, they're chic and cool after all.

As I was looking at them outside, it suddenly started raining.
Looking at the rain drenched Lamborghini from indoors isn't too bad either.

There's an indescribable beauty.
While having tea in the lobby, I stared until I got bored.

After awhile, I went walking around inside the factory.

A sports car factory is clogged full of a man's romanticism.
It's like a huge toy box.

I've left my Lambo here for an overhaul too but
when I see my own car in pieces, for some reason, I feel exceedingly excited...
In the past, I used to take it apart myself.. This makes me feel nostalgic.

While looking at my car, which was in pieces, there was no need
but I had a look at the small, detailed parts.

After awhile, I became curious about the other cars so I went around to have a look.
A factory that has the sound of engines reverberating in it is the best playground.

When I heard that young men these days don't have fun this way, I honestly think that's a waste.

I wonder what's changed?
When I was young, many of us started with assembling simple plastic models,
and were really into assembling and modifying RC cars from then on.

When I'm not well, I'd spend the whole day taking them apart and putting then back together over and over again.
That was unbearably enjoyable.
After I went solo, there was a period of time when I was into survival games and became addicted to modifying guns.
I would take them apart and try out a variety of things to try and increase accuracy but
the regulations for airguns became stricter and at that time I completely stopped going for survival games.
At one point in time, the team was so big that it had over 200 people
so we rented out a mountain, and us adults gathered there to play for a whole day
and had a BBQ too.
It's nostalgic now.
Recently, I wanted to do that again with the new dancers who have never experienced that before,
and I asked about it but now the regulations for survival games are very strict and somehow we don't really feel like it,

I'll go look for another interesting thing to do.

While the car was being washed, I suddenly thought of something.
I wonder why I really hate cleaning up my own room myself but when it comes to cleaning my own car, I filled with KiAi to do it.
Men are such selfish creatures.

Well, even so.
I spent the whole day staring at my car which was in pieces while having tea.
It makes me want a factory like this.

Should make one...? Might be better.
It sure looks fun~.
Hmmm, seems nice~.
Having one~.

Mmmm...
I'll think about it.

GACKT OFFICIAL BLOG: Things that are said

GACKT Official blog update. Translation below:

I was suddenly contacted before I left Japan.
It's from that Camui♂Gakuen Student Council President.

I had some kind of bad feeling about it but I tried picking up the phone.

『Gokigenyo〜.
We're going to start filming now so please do come and visit. I'll be waiting❤️』

He simply said what he wanted to and put down the phone.
It's always like this...
There's a limit to doing whatever you want

Maybe I'll head over for a bit before going to the airport... I thought,
and went to the studio where they were filming at.
In addition to doing whatever he wants, he childishly harasses me to not leave.
Whichever way it is, it'll be trouble.

When I arrived at the venue, they've already begun filming.
It's not a matter of having me jump in out of nowhere.
It's simply that he wants me to seem him working seriously.
It's really troublesome.

Apparently, it looks like they're filming something for the Camui♂Gakuen's Gakuen Fest DVD.
He was simply chatting casually with the other students while watching the Gakuen Fest footage,
and it doesn't look like he's working at all but I guess to him, this is considered as work.

The footage from this 2017 Gakuen Fest, which I visited multiple times, was streamed on the monitor.
It feels like it happened quite a long time ago but it actually just took place a few months back.
This year's Gakuen Fest was pretty interesting.
There were also many parts that moved me.

Somehow I felt happy watching the video on the monitor.
A number of nostalgic scenes came up.
Even so, it feels like the Gakuen Fest has taken shape quite well.
Until a few years ago, it felt disorganised but
the quality of this year's Gakuen Fest has really gone up.

During breaks, I asked him if he would take part in a fest somewhere this year and he said,

『Nah, I want to relax this year』

showing no motivation at all.
I don't see him going for any kind of standardisation at all.

I watched from the side for more than 2 hours but
it was time for me to go for a meeting, and I left the studio without saying bye.

After that,
I went the location of the meeting, and spent around 3 hours with my staff in meetings.
This is a meeting for the poker program.
We've gone through lots of details in the meeting but it seems like there is still room for improvement.

The footage we got for this time's special has been done up quite well.
To make the next round more interesting, everyone brainstormed with a variety of ideas.
Such creative meetings are fun.

When ideas are being thrown one after another, there are of course times when you get stuck and nothing gets done.
Even so,
by passing the ball around without giving up,
little ideas can fall out on a whim.

Looking back,
when I was creating my lives, I realised that we did something like this too.
I'm always thinking about all kinds of things but when I speak them, they quickly take shape.
Instead of continuously thinking about it in your head, having someone listen to your idea
will further transform the quality of your idea into one that is of higher quality.

This is creativity.

Well,
I suppose each person has their own variety of methods but this is the method I always use.
Ever since I came to Tokyo when I was 20, I've created a lot of things in this way.
And I'm thankful that until now, there's still an unstoppable flow of ideas coming out.

After the meeting ended, I went to the airport.
It's not that crowded.
As I haven't been sleeping much
I think I'll fall asleep the moment I get into the plane and sit down.

I've got a mountain load of overseas work.
I have to clear it up properly.

Alright then,
here I go.
It would be nice if I could sleep soundly though.

GACKT OFFICIAL BLOG: Audition

GACKT Official blog update. Translation below:

Before leaving Japan,
I had meetings, on after another, today.
After I finished my training, I completed one meeting
then went to change and headed straight for another meeting.

I checked a variety of things that I needed to check, and had an annually scheduled meeting.
After finishing a few meetings,
I went straight to the audition venue.

Today is the final review for the audition held by SHOWROOM.
It would be great if we could find good talent but the time frame is too short.
I have absolutely no idea what kind of results we'll get.

I went into the venue and started preparing.
I worked out the details with SHOWROOM's representative, Yuuji too.

I've done all kinds of auditions thus far but
honestly, it's quite rare to be able to encounter really good talent at auditions and
the success of the candidates who get picked from there
depends on whether they can further cross a few other hurdles from then on.

In terms of probability, I suppose it's quite low.
That's the reason why,
the kids who can get through those number of walls shine.

The overall review was supposed to take around an hour and a half but
the time frame was too short after all, and several problems were clearly understood.

I clearly conveyed to the girls what they don't have enough of.
With the idea of doing the selection all over again, I made the conclusion
to redo the audition.

Being good at singing with superficial tricks is not necessary.
What's necessary is having a presence, the emotions of wanting to express something,
and whether I can feel great potential from the candidate themselves.

I look forward to seeing whether these candidates will appear in front of me again
after one month, and seeing how much they have grown.

Actually, I believe there are many who don't really get what expressiveness is.
【Expressiveness】 means to create a large movement from a small expression,
and how a person shows the thoughts and feelings that they want to deliver and convey to the outside.

Of course,
you can study this and apply it to yourself but
there are very few people who can naturally and instinctively do this.
Kids who can instinctively do something like that since young
are overwhelmingly different from normal people in terms of presence.

Before considering whether someone is good or bad at singing,
these people have an overwhelming presence and possess charm, along with a unique air that draws everyone's attention to them.
If someone only has a cute face or looks pretty, they will definitely be unable to arrive at the destination that we're aiming for them reach.

We can simply look for kids with cute faces,
or who are good at singing.
Of course, it doesn't hurt to be cute,
but we need someone whose innerself overflows and shows outside.

I sincerely hope from the bottom of my heart that I'll be able to encounter someone like that a month later.

GACKT OFFICIAL BLOG: 【Accumulating years】and【gaining years】

GACKT Official blog update. Translation below:

After finishing training, I prepared to go out.

During my stay in Japan this time round,
I got the feeling that my body went up a size, probably because I've been benching
and using the medicine ball daily, but I can't really tell in photos...

While training everyday, I noticed a number of my own weaknesses.
I think that basically, when training in Japan, I normally do it alone.
Of course, silently facing the mirror
and training on my own is lonely.

Its lonely but there are many merits to being able to focus.
There's also the chance to deal with my own weaknesses.
I'll be able to become stronger by doing that over and over again.
Instead, I think that the times that I can spend training with friends
are very lucky times, and I can go further in such times.

There are also times when I train in between work.
During those times too, if you can get a change of pace, it can increase your concentration ability too.

While I'm in Japan, meetings for both work and my private life continue until late into the night.
Of course, there are also many occasions when I have to drink.
I don't dislike that but if I don't do anything about my body,
both my physique and my condition will, undoubtedly, crumble.

Especially during busy periods,
or rather, the busier you get,
if you don't manage your body well, it will fall to pieces in the blink of an eye.
Times when you can hardly get any sleep are definitely tough.
However, if you let your body indulge, it'll soon become useless.

On the contrary, if you keep it together and manage it well, you'll be able to create a body than can pretty much handle stresses.

The more you age, the more your body will become unable to handle stress.
I believe almost everyone feels this.
If you properly do what you have to, you will, undoubtedly, not have many chances to feel that.

The meanings of 【accumulating years】 and 【gaining years】 are different.

【Accumulating years】 is
the way of life where you accumulate responsibilities, one after another, as you grow older.

【Gaining years】 is
the way of life where you let go of responsibilities, one after another, as you age.

At a glance,
【gaining years】 sounds like the more enjoyable way of life but
the people who live life by 【accumulating years】 will gain overwhelming strength.
That includes both the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects.

The phrase 【you get what you put in】
can imply with both good and bad meanings.
It's alright as long as what comes back to you is the good stuff.

If the things that come back to you are are not anything like hate or pain and such,
but are instead things like gratitude, being emotionally moved, good health, or lots of knowledge, then your life will become enriched.

I sincerely hope that everyone can walk through a wonderfully painted life with a smile.
