In 「Deadpool」, the main character, Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) gets late-stage cancer and gets modified by a suspicious organisation. Hiding his completely changed appearance, and protecting his beloved girlfriend, he becomes the hero 「Deadpool」, and swears revenge upon the organisation… It will be released on June 1.
On that day, aside from GACKT-san and R－Shitei-san, DJ Matsunaga also made an appearance. Also, on the red carpet before the event, professional baseballer Miles Mikolas and his wife Lauren Mikolas, along with the model-boxer Takano Tomomi, also made appearances.

GACKT Appears at 「Deadpool」 Movie Event! Showcases A Professional's Perspective on Action
On the 26th, singer GACKT attended the movie premiere event for 『Deadpool』 (Director: Tim Miller / DIstribution: Twentieth Century Fox Films) held in Tokyo, at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills.
The film is Marvel’s new release on the activities of Deadpool, a nonsensical hero, who basically doesn’t fight for the world or justice, but for his own convenience and talks non-stop while doing so. It is known for gathering USD135 million at the weekend box office, surpassing 『Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith』 and 『Avatar』, and becoming the best opening performance for Twentieth Century Fox Films. It is a much talked about hero movie that is packed with homages to a variety of movies and is being rated R-15 in Japan.
With regards to this film being produced, GACKT said happily 「I’ve liked Deadpool since Wolverine so, I’ve been waiting for a movie like this Deadpool movie to be released. I’m glad that it finally became a movie」.
With regards to the movie, he said 「It’s crazy. In terms of dark heroes we have Batman and such but, he’s a brainless hero. But he’s strong. I thought that it could be rated R-15 when brought into Japan but, it’s pretty black. There’s a considerable amount of black humour. When I watched it in English, I have to say that it was funny, and I’m looking forward to how it will turn out in Japanese subtitles」, mentioning that its contents can turn rather peaky.
In addition, he gave forthright comments about the action, saying 「It’s a different approach from what has been done until now. Looking at it from a professional’s point of view,it leaned towards extreme martial arts, and shows you quite a lot of technique. It’s impressive that it was incorporated well into this movie. As the main points are in the details, it makes me feel that you can watch it 2 or 3 times while trying to figure out how many people really got injured」, and with regards to a striking scene, 「There’s an SM scene. He ends up on all fours… … I like this scene. It something that happened in spite that he’s a hero. This might not be something suitable for mentioning on TV but, I was in a laughing fit」 he said, mentioning hilarious scenes as well.
Hoping for it to become a hit, Creepy Nuts’ R-Shitei used GACKT’s words; 「crazy main character」, 「Is it alright to describe it like this」, and the phrase 「Johnny Depp」 from the audience, to perform a freestyle rap live. GACKT kept laughing from the words spun by R-Shitei, who performed a rather lengthy rap, and said a punchline 「Everyone thought that Johnny Depp would appear out of nowhere. I think everyone in the audience had that idea」, which brought down the house.
「It’ll probably be a huge hit in Japan as well. Since he’s quite a funny hero, you’ll probably get hooked. Around the world, it has also broken various box office records so, if this doesn’t break any records in Japan, Japan would seem like a boring country instead and I’d hate for that so, everyone spread the word about this movie」, he highlighted.
Also, Miles Mikolas and his wife Lauren, and Takano Tomomi visited as guests for the screening.
The movie 『Deadpool』 will go on screen nationwide from June 1!

It is a hero movie that is the first of its kind. There was also a red carpet event on the same day, where Yomiuri Giants pitcher Miles Mikolas attended with his wife Lauren, and the exceptionally beautiful model--boxer Takano Tomomi made an appearance. They made respective comments about enjoying the movie as well.
Following a performance by popular music unit Creepy Nuts (R-Shitei & DJ Matsunaga) and dancers, GACKT made his appearance and said with delight 「Because I’ve liked him since 『X‐MEN』, I’m glad that it finally became a movie. There are all kinds of characters that fall under the category of American heros but, Marvel has, for the first time, tried depicting a dark hero, and I’m really happy that it became a huge hit around the world」. Following that, he expressed his hopes for it to be a hit in Japan, saying 「People who aren’t familiar with it will be wondering what Deadpool is but, he’s a rather fun hero so you’ll get hooked」.
GACKT also joined the stage greeting that was held after the red carpet event. Mentioning that he watched the English version of the movie, he said 「When I watched it in English there were really funny expressions so, I wonder how it will be translated in the Japanese subtitles?」, revealing that he was looking forward to the subtitled version that would be screened on that day. With regards to himself having experienced performing action scenes in a Hollywood movie, he gave this movie high ratings, saying 「Looking at it from a professional’s point of view, the delivery leaned more towards extreme martial arts (EMA), that makes it a little different from what has been done until now. It shows you quite a lot of technique. Bold moves like EMA is rarely used in movies but, it’s used quite a lot here」. Also, when asked about his favourite scene, he replied that it was the SM scene where Deadpool was on all fours, and said 「I was in a laughing fit」 with a smile.

This is an action movie that is the film adaptation of Marvel comics’ unprecedented hero. The main character, who received extraordinary healing powers and an immortal body through human experimentation, spews out vulgarities and goes on a spree of violence in this comedic movie.
It achieved the highest weekend box office record for Twentieth Century Fox Films, and broke opening records which surpassed 『Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith』 and 『Avatar』. Furthermore, it remained number 1 in the US for 3 consecutive weeks, and made a record for being number 1 in 120 countries worldwide beating 『The Matrix Reloaded』 and 『American Sniper』, and for being a number 1 R-rated film. This famous blockbuster continued breaking record after record.
With regards to the movie, GACKT said 「I’ve liked Deadpool since Wolverine (he also appeared in the movie 『Wolverine: X-MEN ZERO』), and I was really happy that it became a movie. Although it’s the first time that a dark hero is being depicted, I was of course happy that that it became a hit」. As he shared his passion for 『Deadpool』, he said confidently 「It’ll probably be a hit in Japan. If it doesn’t break a record in Japan, I think that it would seem like Japan is a boring country (to the world)」.
About his impression of the movie, he said 「It’s crazy. It’s a lot of black (humor) that can probably pass as an R15 movie, and he talks all the time. There are lots of funny expressions in English but, I’m really looking forward to how that will be translated in Japanese」, mentioning a point to note for the Japanese release.
On the other hand, he highlighted the action scenes in the movie from the viewpoint of a martial artist 「Acting it out using extreme martial arts, it shows you technique. As it is something that is rarely used in movies to this extent, I thought that it was incorporated quite well. 「Since Wolverine, I became a big fan of Deadpool, so I’ve been waiting for him to become a main character. He’s crazy, and has rather black (humor). The image of a stupid, but powerful hero is a new approach to me」, said GACKT as he talked about its charm. 「There’s a considerable amount of black humor」 he revealed, and flashed an audacious smile as he said 「My favourite is the avocado scene. That and the SM scene where he’s on all fours. You’ll get it once you watch it (laughs)」. Being that it was received as a huge hit in the States, he strongly highlighted 「If it doesn’t become a hit in Japan, it would seem like Japan is a boring country (to the world). I don’t like the idea of that so, please do spread the word (about this movie)」.
