Nikkan Sports: GACKT's Powerful Live Exceeds 3 Hours 「Voice has closed shop」
On the 3rd, singer GACKT (42) held the last performance of his「GACKT WORLD TOUR 2016 LAST VISUALIVE Saigo no Tsuki －LAST MOON－」at Saitama Super Arena.
With a total of 42 performances for this tour, the last performance had an attendance of 12,000 people. The performance was split into 4 parts.
In part 1 and 2, the staging was linked to the worldview of the GACKT all-produced stage play「MOON SAGA －Yoshitsune Hiden－」and「Chapter 2」, without any MC portions at all. In part 3, during his conversation with the excited audience, GACKT said with his withered voice before entering part 4 in the MC,「GACKT’s voice has already closed shop. Everything after this will be sung by drummer VAL」. With that declaration, the audience used their 2 light sticks to form the X sign, signalling their huge disapproval, the audience were wowed by themselves when he said「You don’t have to reject with full force right」.
As he said「Although this is the tour’s final, I don’t want you to be sad」, he got a few words off his chest, saying「It’s been 17 years since I first went solo. When I look around me, there are friends who are disappearing but, because there are people who are supporting me I’m able to do this. Please let me say this from the deepest depths of my heart. Truly, thank you for everything so far!」.
With his comment「With all my life, I will deliver something special to everyone so, everyone please do receive my special something too」, they went through the introduction of his members and then started the 4th part. It It was a powerful live that lasted for more than 3 hours, and including his newest single「ARROW」, a total of 17 songs were performed.
Also, on this day, it was announced that he will be voicing the Fiend with Twenty Faces for the TV anime「TRICKSTER －Edogawa Ranpo『Shounen Tanteidan』yori－」which will start in October, and that his son「Kimi Dake no Boku de Iru Kara」will be used as the opening theme song.

GACKT as “The Fiend with Twenty Faces” in a new anime 「I am looking forward to it」
Singer GACKT announced on the 3rd that he will be voicing the character The Fiend with Twenty Faces (Kaijin Nijuu Mensou) in the anime『TRICKSTER -Edogawa Ranpo「Shounen Tanteidan」yori-』which will be broadcasted in October on TOKYO MX’s Yomiuri TV’s BS11. It has been decided that the opening theme song will be GACKT’s「Kimi Dake no Boku de Iru Kara」(from the album『LAST MOON』).
The anime is an original work that as adapted from Edogawa Ranpo’s「Shounen Tanteidan」and brought from a historical time setting into a time setting in the near future. It will be a large-scale project that will involve the anime being adapted into a manga, stageplay, and live-action movie.
The time period is in the 2030. The Shounen Tanteidan (Detective Boys) have been assembled under the mysterious detective Kogorou Akechi. Their actions have led to the resolution of various small and large incidents. One day, team member Kensuke Hanasaki meets a mysterious boy named Yoshio Kobayashi. Kobayashi, who has an undying body because of an "unidentified fog," wishes his own death and refuses contact with others. Hanasaki takes an interest in Kobayashi and invites him to join the Boys' Detective Team. The encounter eventually leads them to the connection between the criminal nicknamed "Fiend with Twenty Faces (Kaijin Nijuu Mensou)" and Kogorou Akechi. The fate of the two begins to move.
The Fiend with Twenty Faces is an extraordinary phantasmagoric criminal that was created by Edogawa Ranpo. In this anime as well, he is an international criminal whose nationality, gender, age are all unknown, and works behind the scenes disguised as anyone young or old, male or female, as the Shounen Tanteidan’s enemy. The mysterious yet bewitching design by PEACH-PIT put together with GACKT’s seductive voice, makes this new Fiend with Twenty Faces a highlight of this work.
GACKT commented「With Edogawa Ranpo’s『Shounen Tanteidan』being adapted to be set in Tokyo in the near future for the stage play, how will the young Kobayashi be like? What kind of youth will his sidekick Hanazaki be like? What will be the role of the great detective Kogorou Akechi? And what about the Fiend with Twenty Faces who I will be acting for!? Thinking about these makes me look forward to this production. By all means, please do look forward to『TRICKSTER』and『Kimi Dake no Boku de Iru Kara』as well」.

On the 28th, artiste GACKT appeared on 「Nanairo」 (Mon ～ Sun, 14：30 ～ 18：30 everyday), a program on 「Modelpress TV by Hikari TV 4K」 (Ch 105) which is broadcased on the entertainment and lifestyle news channel 「Modelpress TV by Hikari TV 4K」 (Ch 105) of smart TV service 「Hikari TV」. He shared his thoughts on a variety of topics from fashion, his daily workouts, to his Instagram posts which became hot topics time and again, to the his first live tour in 7 years 「GACKT WORLD TOUR 2016 LAST VISUALIVE Saigo no Tsuki -LAST MOON-supported by Nestle」, which will be having its final performance on July 3.
