Movie Karanukan Director's Diary
Kimura Suzuka, who acts as the heroine Ishigaki Maumi, has grown greatly thus far.
Today, she acted out the tear-jerking love scene together with GACKT. As a 19 year-old rookie, the pressure was probably huge for Suzuka but, with GACKT's genius direction and gentleness, they brilliantly acted out love blooming.
This picture was taken during the filming of the scene soon after, when I got a bit of time from directing. She's growing more beautiful isn't she.
Applause for Suzuka's performance of a beautiful yet rich love scene!
Director's Diary
When we returned to the hotel,
I found myself idly staring
at the splendor of the setting sun in the sea outside the window.
Today was the busiest of shoots but, we've successfully completed 2 days of hard mountain climbing and filming.
I've learnt a lot from GACKT.

Movie Karanukan Director's Diary
We've finally entered deep into Yaeyama.
Moving toward the climax scene of the movie bringing all our shooting equipment on a one-way mountain road for 40 minutes.
In the scorching heat of Okinawa, with an abnormal high temperature, we prepare our equipement and shooting plan, make camera tests, sound recording silently.
In my work, I always try to insistently focus on important aesthetics, philosophy, beautiful pictures.
GACKT also gave me his advice. And made important proposals.
'I'll do my best until director is fully satisfied'
I'm moved to tears by his affection.

This icecream stand, is something borrowed from the style of Okinawa's roadside stores that we often see.

Today's my birthday, I've received messages from a lot of people. Thank you.
Lead actor GACKT, heroine Kimura Suzuka, and our wonderful friends did a surprise birthday celebration during lunchtime.
"Have I turned 75~? That's right. I'm already 75. It's about time to become a good adult~"
They gave me a wonderful gift with the message.
We're left with about a week of the busy daily filming of the major scenes in Okinawa.
Here, hold out a little more and hang in there~ the voices of my friends carry my burden with me, without losing to the heat, without losing to your body giving out, ONE STEP ONE STEP ONE STEP
just turn into love~

I want to live as something to be anticipated.
Yesterday evening, I only had time to take this one photo of the sunset.
Today, I turn 75.
I am thankful for the 50 cast and staff, and the hotel employees who have been with me for my movie.
I hope to live without ever giving up, and always moving forward fro Okinawa, for Japan, for the Asian Pacific Ocean.

I'll create the masterpiece of a lifetime.
GACKT-san, after fishing yesterday, I've gained the confidence that I can fish with you.
Next, I'll take you on a fishing trip that will set your life ablaze!
