GACKT YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz was formed 14 years ago in March 2010, with GACKT at the center.

They were called YFCz for short.

They debuted on March 21, 2010, at the men-only live “GACKT Kirameki☆Yutokojuku ~Male Respect Women’s Secret Skin Fight Festival~” at Kawasaki Club Citta.

After that, from June to August, they held a domestic tour “GACKT YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz Kirameki☆Yutokojuku ~Men’s Mixed Desire Skin Fight Festival~” starting at Zepp Tokyo and covering 24 shows in 6 cities.

In July of the same year, they held an EU tour covering 5 shows in 4 locations in the UK, France, Spain, and Germany, and the following year in July 2011, they held an EU tour visiting 13 cities in 9 countries.

However, the year after the Great East Japan Earthquake on July 4, 2012, they held a disbandment concert at Nippon Budokan and ended their activities.

YFCz suddenly made a comeback as GACKT YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz at Kishidan Banpaku 2024 ~Shin Kishidan Banpaku~, held at the Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall yesterday, November 10th!

The newly-formed YFCz was unveiled.

The band members appeared wearing masks while a video introducing the band and the traditional Japanese-style opening sound effects played.

The band members consisted of triple guitar, bass and drums.

Vocals: GACKT

Guitars: YOHIO, MiA, HIROTO

Bass: DAICHI

Drums: HIDEHIRO

At the end of the opening sound effects, GACKT appeared from the left side of the stage.

The first song of the live started with “ZAN”. When GACKT stood on the stage, which is customary for YFCz, and shouted, “Tonight is a festival. Let’s go wild!”, the excitement of the fans who had been waiting for 12 years reached a peak. The fans in the front row shook their heads back and forth while savoring the intense beat of the intro. In some scenes, the members were in beautiful symmetrical formations and moved in sync. They were wearing masks and had unique hairstyles, and it felt like watching a calculated show, not just a rock band.

The second song was “JUSTIFIED”. During the intro, GACKT shouted, “Will you dance with me? Scream until you lose your voice!”, and the fans responded. The guitar solo was a beautiful melody played by triple guitars, and the main chorus was a beautiful GACKT falsetto. Yes, even at a rock concert, GACKT doesn’t just scream. His beautiful falsetto is also a highlight.

The third song was “SPEED MASTER”. As you can tell from the title, it’s a song with a sense of speed. The solo part is a guitar solo that makes full use of MiA’s right hand and fast picking. And then there’s DAICHI’s bass solo, which is an intense attack with slap playing. The new YFCz members are young, but they showed the audience plenty of technique.

The fourth song is “EVER”. This song also has a beautiful symmetrical band formation and synchronized movements that are pleasant to watch, and the chorus uses flash-like lighting to further increase the tension of the beat. The guitar solo is harmonized by YOHIO and HIROTO in the first half, and YOHIO and MiA in the second half, creating a calculated beauty of composition.

And the last song is “JESUS”. At the part where they shout “HEY!” during the chorus, GACKT, the members, and the audience all raise their hands, and the lighting also synchronizes, raising the excitement of the entire venue as one, and the YFCz stage comes to a close.

This live performance brilliantly proved that the new YFCz has taken a new step forward.

YFCz will finally hold their long-awaited solo performance, “GACKT YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz ~Kurinshu Bushu Kyoran-en~” for 2 days on the holy night of Christmas at Zepp Haneda (TOKYO) from December 24th to 25th.
