GACKT Official X update. Translation below

In recent years, I have been hearing more and more about the passing of great predecessors who led the times.

Of course, people die someday.
That is a reality that cannot be changed.

People I have known and watched since I was young
are completing their missions and leaving.

However, perhaps my antennae have become shorter, but I feel that there are fewer and fewer “overwhelming stars” these days.
Maybe the feeling that if a person is in it, you just have to watch their work is fading.

We live in an age where anyone can easily receive information and works via smartphone or the Internet.
It has become convenient, but it feels like it has become just “consumption.”
It is something that is used once, seen, and then it is over, without the opportunity to “experience” it repeatedly.

They say that there is a change of generations, but the great works and achievements left by our predecessors will not fade and will have an impact on the younger generation.

However, nothing remains the same forever.
As we get older and gain more experience, the way we feel about the same work changes.

In particular, the expressions that we artists do are not eternal.
No two concerts are ever the same, and there’s no telling how long an artist will be able to perform live.

The same goes for those who are receiving the experience.

Why go to the venue in this age of convenience?

Why go to the cinema rather than just subscribe?

There are emotions that can only be obtained at a venue.

There is an atmosphere that can only be felt there.

When emotions are shared and multiplied, they turn into incredible energy.

Things are finite. If there is a beginning, there will surely be an end.

If you want to go or see something, even if it means making a bit of a stretch, go and experience it.
Because nothing beats the experience.
