Despite GACKT attending the event of an American movie he dubbed for, the subtitled version will be screened 「Looks like I’m just here for fun」
On the 5th, singer GACKT attended the Roaring × Cheering Screening Event in Tokyo, that was held in celebration of the hit American movie「Kong: Skull Island」, for which he provided the Japanese dubs
The movie has earned 1.3 billion yen in the 11 days since it has been released, and close to a million people have watched it. Welcomed by the cheers from the female fans and the sound of thunder sticks, GACKT arrived through the corridor between the audience and said,「How is everyone? I’m surprised by how tense everyone feels」, looking spirited.
The Japanese dubbed version is being shown in around 330 cinemas nationwide, and GACKT, who voiced Tom Hiddleston’s (36) character in the dubbed version, said「I don’t mean to brag, I think it’s a pretty good voice. It might feel weird in the beginning but after around 40 minutes, you wouldn’t feel so, and you’ll come to hear it as Tom’s voice at the ending」, praising himself. However, when he heard for the first time that it was the subtitled version that was going to be screened on that day, he lamented「It looks like I’m just here for fun」.
