GACKT Official Blog update. Translation below:
Before heading to the airport today
I went to the hair salon to fix my hair.
I seem to have accumulated quite an amount of fatigue
and I couldn’t stop dozing off while getting my hair cut.
I then headed straight to Haneda Airport
and took a break in the VIP lounge.
Looks like it’s going to rain outside.
There aren’t many people around.
This time around, my stay in Japan was really hectic.
I had sudden interviews to do too but
I was running around from morning to night
and suddenly I’d go into a meeting in the middle of the night.
I guess it has something to do with the season too.
With my body in a collapsing state,
I continued dragging myself around until yesterday.
This time, because of how unwell I felt,
not only did I get a drip,
I also got an x-ray and MRI scan done
to check on the condition of my knee which has been bad for a while.
After I got an injury last August,
I rested for a bit
until it looked like it got better but
it did not feel like it was getting better at all.
Because I’ve never actually
dragged around any kind of pain
for long periods of time before,
I decided to get an MRI scan.
I’ve never actually
had an MRI scan for my knee before.
Even when they put up my x-rays and
MRI scans in front of me and showed them to me,
I had zero idea of what the situation is.
The knee specialist doctor
gave me a technical explanation but
I honestly didn’t understand that at all.
However, I managed to understand his concluding statement.
『Anterior cruciate ligament rupture』
Honestly,
the way this phrase sounds
does not give me a good feeling at all.
Come to think of it,
Kimisawa Yuuki, who I love like a younger brother, too
tore his ACL late last year
and had to undergo a huge surgery.
I heard from the manager that it was pretty tough.
「So he actually underwent a surgery for this injury…
I’m screwed…」
I thought as I stared at the x-ray scans
that I honestly couldn’t understand no matter how much I looked at them.
『Aren’t you in pain in such a state!?』
my secretary, who was next to me exclaimed in shock, but
honestly, for me, I’m numb to pain,
so I cannot understand at all how painful it is.
Fortunately,
Because of the muscles that developed around the knee,
damage, like cartilage being shaved off, was not done at all.
『The way you use your knee is impressive』
At this point of time,
I didn’t even register what the doctor was saying.
『Yeah… Is that right…』
words I wasn’t really aware of spilled out.
When I asked how much can I recover from my present situation,
it seems like there’s no way for it to completely recover naturally.
Well,
when I heard that at this point,
a phrase that represented my true feelings finally spilled out.
『Well, whatever〜』
Even if I think hard about it, it won’t heal.
Anyway, after such an accident,
I suppose I should be thankful that it only affected one knee.
And also, still being alive is everything.
I’ll do the surgery when the time is right.
More importantly, I’ll just train what I can train now.
At least one ligament… is how I’ll think of it.
Life is interesting only because of what happens.
