I did my morning training, then changed my clothes.
I soon headed out after that.
Yesterday was one long day.
Actors are going to walk on
the red carpet for 【Kong: Skull Island】 in Shinjuku.
The actors are
Samuel L. Jackson
Tom Hiddleston
Brie Larson
and
together with Sasaki Nozomi-chan who dubbed with me,
this was going to be my first time
walking down a red carpet in the middle of the city in Shinjuku.
I started to prepare to go for the red carpet.
The scenery from the room feels great.
After getting my makeup done and finishing meetings,
interviews from various TV companies,
and shoots for magazines,
I headed to Shinjuku and made it just in time.
It turned to evening, and I went up to a cafe on the 53rd floor.
Then
I met with the actors.
We said our pleasantries and I spoke with everyone for awhile.
Tom had such gentlemanly behaviour
that it was as though he had the aura of 007 floating around him.
Samuel kept talking about things with his own pace.
Everyone’s so different from the usual…
It was then time, and we headed to Shinjuku.
With quite a number of people gathered,
I couldn’t imagine what it would be like at all.
The car arrived and the door opened.
The number of audience gathered
exceeded my expectations.
The thought of this many people waiting for us
even though it’s this cold,
was heartwarming..
For as long as time permitted, I signed autographs for each person
and used their phones to take selfies with each of them.
Well,
since I don’t do things like these
unless it’s for such occasions
I thought that I would like to make them happy
and blow the chill that they’re feeling away.
Because of the cold my fingers became unable to move
and I couldn’t sign like I hoped to.
Even so,
Samuel politely gave autographs
to each person.
「As expected, the top-class are different…」
I thought, feeling moved.
Then, it was time and the staff guided us
and moved us to the backstage area of the stage at the side.
I turned to Samuel,
「Isn’t it cold?」
I asked,
「It’s much colder in New York」
he jokingly said with a smile, and warmed up in front of the heater.
He’s really funny.
He overflows with a wonderful character.
It was then time to go up on stage.
We moved and came before the steps but
the cold was so bad that even the staff were irritated.
Maybe it’s because the setup didn’t go well backstage
that got the staff yelling at each other.
Well,
stuff like that will definitely happen backstage.
Finally, the music started playing and we went up on stage.
The wind hit and it was cold as hell.
I couldn’t stop the trembling in my lips.
Various setups unfolded on stage but
finally,
because of the terrible cold, actress Brie
started going offstage in the middle of the event on her own.
That was hilarious.
This time’s MC, Souguchi-kun, had round eyes
that was pretty funny to me.
Oh well,
it was much colder
than what everyone expected but
it was really something we couldn’t do anything about though.
Somehow,
the red carpet for King Kong
ended without incident without it’s leading actress.
To be able to have myself walk the carpet like this again,
I suppose I should really do movies overseas…
It has been a day that made me think like this.
Anyway, it’s cold in Japan…
