GACKT calls Sasaki Nozomi “Cute” after her continuous dubbing NG

From the production team of 『GODZILLA』 comes the 2017 notable movie 『Kong: Skull Island』. The public dubbing was held on February 16 (Thu) in Tokyo, and was attended by part of the cast of Japanese dubbers, GACKT and Sasaki Nozomi. Next to GACKT-san, who performed a perfect dub, Sasaki-san, who is taking on this challenge for the first time, tripped on her lines and got an NG a number of times due to her nerves. Sasaki-san cowered and said 「I’m sorry…」, but GACKT-san gently said 「Cute」 with a smile, releasing the tension in the air.

The gigantic monster from King Kong, Kong, that was born from an American movie, makes its return to the screen in 『Kong: Skull Island』, the blockbuster adventure with powerful imagery. With the intention of territory expansion, an expedition team is sent to a mysterious island known as Skull Island, where they suddenly encounter Kong, the island’s gigantic guardian, and mysterious behemoths, as they try to escape from the island.

This is actually the first time that GACKT-san and Sasaki-san have met each other. With regards to her thoughts on GACKT-san, who kindly led her through the dubbing from start to end, Sasaki-san said, impressed 「I was moved. With his aura being so bright and sparkly, I wasn’t sure that he would talk to me but he’s been kindly teaching me since the beginning」. GACKT-san’s expression can’t be read because of his sunglasses but, only in that moment did he show his white teeth, and smiled as he said 「I’m nice to cute people, basically. Because I’m a gentleman」.

When he first received the offer, GACKT revealed 「There was actually a part of me that didn’t really expect much of it」, then he went into an excited spiel talking about how interesting the movie is, 「It starts with a development that is unlike what you’d expect, and at the end of it, I was watching it at the edge of my seat. I’m really happy I got the offer! After it ended I got excited on my own」. When he was asked about exactly how interesting it was and what it was like, GACKT-san gave his recommendation, saying 「You can say it’s 20 to 30 times more interesting than 『Jurassic Park』」.

『Kong: Skull Island』 will be released nationwide on March 25 (Sat).
