GACKT Official Blog update. Translation below:
Because I left the curtains open in the hotel open
I was woken up by the sunlight streaming in through the window.
I hardly sleep.
Oh right…
I’m staying in a hotel today… I thought
and reminded myself of where I was.
I had to head to a venue at 8 a.m..
I have to work on dubbing
for the Japanese version of the King Kong movie.
Then, there’s a PR press conference right after that too.
I was in the studio since morning
and first started doing push ups to wake myself up.
Honestly, it’ll be tough in the morning
but it’s the fastest way to wake me up.
Straight after that, I started recording the dubs.
First I tried out which voice I should use.
I read the script in a few different voices
and using the voice that the production team liked
we started recording.
At the start it took some time to set my voice but
it went unexpectedly smoothly and as I rested
the work continued making progress.
Then. just as the work was around half done
I started preparing for the press conference.
Sasaki Nozomi-chan arrived too
and both of us worked to align our voices.
After quite a bit of practice
we went straight into the flow of the press conference.
In the middle of the press conference
there was also a live dub that we had to do
and after that, the conference ended without a hitch.
I headed to another venue for another information program
and then did another interview…
Then travelled again and did another interview… And repeat.
After all that recording was done
I headed back to finish up the rest of the dubbing.
Honestly, I returned to the studio in an extremely weary state
and resumed with recording the second half of the movie.
The recording for second half of the movie was more difficult than I expected.
That’s because
the scenes where he screams or shouts
are all in the last parts.
Thanks to that, my voice is in pieces.
My throat hurts.
I kind of forced my voice out.
Then, after recording, I finished up one more meeting
and that day’s work ended without incident.
After that, I showed up at
a friend’s, who is like a younger sister to me, birthday party.
Kohiruimaki-kun arrived before me
and everyone started eating first.
The owner of Sushishin closed his shop for this day
and came to a suite in Hyatt
to present his sushi here.
It’s pretty delicious.
He specially made some without the rice for me
and it was exceptionally cumbersome but
nevertheless it tasted extremely delicious.
I was really happy
to have been able to celebrate for her with my friends.
I couldn’t stay until the end but
I was able to spend a heartwarming time there.
On this day,
I have to attend yet another party.
The night is still young.
Well then… I guess I’ll do my best.
Smiles will heal my fatigue.
