2000 people went wild at GACKT’s Shinjuku Guerrilla Live! Announces donations to Kumamoto’s disaster areas

Today, the 19th (Tue), singer GACKT held a guerrilla live, 「GACKT SPECIAL LIVE supported by “NESCAFE”」, at Shinjuku Station Square in commemoration of the launch of his collaboration with Nestle, the 「Nescafe Gold Blend Barista GACKT Model」.

At 11:45 a.m., a huge banner advertising 「Nescafe Gold Blend Barista GACKT Model」 appeared in Shinjuku Station Square which was filled with passers-by coming and going. The pedestrians went abuzz with the thought 「Could it be GACKT?」, and when the time struck 12 noon, music suddenly played and GACKT appeared. Like the design on the Barista GACKT Model, he appeared in a distinctive costume with black wings as cheers erupted, in a split second Shinjuku Station transformed into a concert venue.

GACKT-san performed 2 songs, including 「ARROW」, from his upcoming new album 『LAST MOON』, which will be released on 27 April. During the MC in between the songs, GACKT-san asked 「Having fun?」, shrill screams came from the audience in response. He then announced the launch, saying 「This time, we’re launching the collab model between me and Nescafe so, everyone buy it!」. He then touched on the Kumamoto earthquakes which happened a few days back, 「Even now, it is turning out to be a terrible situation but, I believe that each and everyone of you can play a part. Even small gestures count, so do it」, he said passionately. In addition, he said 「I spoke with Nestle. And we’ve decided to donate all the sales proceeds from this time’s 『Barista GACKT Model』」. As he declared support for the reconstruction efforts following the earthquake, loud cheers erupted from the audience. Despite that the concert venue appeared all of a sudden in midday, Shinjuku was shown a great deal of excitement, and the live ended on a high note.
