Come ti è venuta l’idea di creare il mondo di Yoshitune Hiden?
Già da quando ho deciso di fare il progetto di MOON SAGA a cui ho dedicato la mia vita volevo creare una storia dove si parlava di vampiri. Per realizzarlo ho fatto una ricerca approfondita sull’origine dei vampiri in tutto il mondo e ho scoperto dei Mononoke nel periodo di Heian. Approfondendo l’argomento sono arrivato a pensare che in realtà l’origine dei vampiri siano i Mononoke giapponesi che si sono poi diffusi fino in Europa. Il periodo Heian è per me il periodo che più mi affascina in tutta la storia Giapponese.
Come mai hai scelto Yoshitsune come il protagonista?
Dunque Yoshitune è il protagonista di questa storia ma non vuol dire che lui sia il personaggio più importante tra tutti gli altri. Penso che Yoshitsune abbia completamente distrutto il mondo di questo periodo anche se nella storia viene considerato un eroe che ha sconfitto la famiglia Heike.
Molti libri di storia descrivo la famiglia Heike come il male e invece la famiglia Genji il bene. Nel mondo che ho creato io questa volta io non ho descritto la famiglia Heike come un male. Ogni una famiglia aveva proprio principio e una propria convinzione da seguire a costo della vita e io ho voluto descrivere gli incontri fatali tra le due famiglie con l’ipotesi che le due famiglie stessero cercando una strada per la pace.
「Yoshitsune cresce superando il dolore 」
Il rapporto con due protagonisti importanti:平知盛Tairano Tomonori e 平教経Tairano noritsune?
Tra Yoshitsune e loro nasce un’amicizia ma poi per i principi politici sono costretti a combattere.
Nel capitolo precedente Yoshitsune viene descritto come un ragazzo giovane e frizzante, piuttosto adolescente. Invece questa volta, nel secondo capitolo, il personaggio è più maturo e cresciuto?
In realtà, dall’ultima scena del capitolo precedente alla sconfitta della famiglia Heike corre soltanto un anno. Poi un anno dopo la sconfitta della famiglia Yoshitsune muore. Perciò il mondo non è che è cambiato più di tanto, ma è anche vero che Yoshitsune è mentalmente maturato in un anno e vorrei descriverlo per bene. È interessante come esce dalla forte depressione e la crisi dopo aver ucciso il suo migliore amico. L’incontro con la famiglia Heike lo ha aiutato a crescere e cambiare.
Questa storia di Yoshitsune ha a che fare con i temi fondamentali della tua vita: amicizia vera e legame tra persone?
Dunque è vero che la chiave di questa storia è l’amicizia vera, ma per Yoshitsune che lotta nei tempi di guerra è molto difficile fidarsi degli altri perciò non saprei.
「Anche azione fa parte dell’esprimersi」
Riguardo al provino per la parte di Hiyori: una demone; una volta hai detto che volevi scoprire nuovi talenti
Sì, è una cosa che penso ormai da un po’ di tempo. Ci sono persone dotate di talento che non sono state ancora scoperte. Spero che possano trovare occasioni per la carriera tramite questo progetto.
Che qualità bisogna avere per essere scelti da te?
Capacità. Anche se non è ancora qualcosa di perfetta se si intravede qualcosa di interessante o speciale per me va bene.
Non è difficile scegliere soltanto una persona tra tante?
Sì, è proprio difficile. Sopratutto se ci sono più persone interessanti. Ma sarebbe ancora peggio se non ce ne fosse nemmeno una!
Oltre ai vari progetti nel campo musicale, cinematografico e tanti altri stai scrivendo la sceneggiatura. Anche scrivere ti piace?
No….. Per niente!!! Quando la penna scorre va bene ma ci sono delle volte in cui non so proprio che cosa scrivere. E in quei casi per staccare un attimo la mente cerco sempre di chiacchierare con persone o studio un po’ di documenti storici sperando che mi arrivi qualche ispirazione.
Ma come fai ad avere tempo di studiare i documenti storici????
La notte. Fondamentalmente io non dormo.
Ci saranno tante scene di azione?
Sicuramente si. Ma non vorrei fare cose banali. Anche l’azione fa parte dell’esprimersi: per esempio uno prende la spada e la brandisce perché è stato spinto da un sentimento molto forte….perciò ogni gesto è per esprimersi, penso.
「Fare uno spettacolo al teatro 」
Perché hai voluto così tanto fare questo spettacolo?
Perché recitare sul palcoscenico è molto complesso. Se hai imparato a fare un bello spettacolo al teatro vuol dire che hai sviluppato la tua capacità di esprimerti. La tecnica di esprimerti che impari sul palcoscenico è molto preziosa e le esperienze sono le armi per un’artista.
Fare il produttore e anche l’autore dello spettacolo non è un impiego pesante?
No. Faccio anche il sceneggiatore e il regista ma questo non mi pesa. Alcuni mi hanno detto “no, queste cose non si possono fare al teatro” ma invece non ci sono tanti limiti al teatro. Non puoi fare spettacoli banali alla moda privi di originalità. Insistiamo proprio su questo stile perché è questo fare il teatro.
Qual’è il messaggio di “Yoshitsune hiden capitolo 2”?
“Puoi creare il tuo futuro” il potere di creare e cambiare e il tuo futuro è nelle tue mani.
Anche la sigla e colonna sonora le comporrai?
Certamente. Dormo ancora di meno!!!!

How did the idea of creating Yoshistune Hiden’s world came into your mind?
Since when I decided to do the MOON SAGA project to which I dedicated my life I wanted to create a story where you talk about vampires. To realize it I did a deep research on the origin of vampires in the whole world and I found out about the Mononoke in the Heian period. Going deeper in this subject I came to think that the origin of vampires is actually the Japanese Mononoke that spread out to Europe after. The Heian period to me is the most charming one in all Japanese history.
Why did you chose Yoshitsune as the main character?
So Yoshitsune is the main character of this story but it doesn’t mean he’s the most important character among them all. I think that Yoshitsune has completely destroyed the world of this period even if he’s considered an hero by history because he defeated Heike family.
Many history books describe the Heike family as the evil ones and the Genji family as the good ones. In the world I created this time I didn’t describe the Heike family as evil. Every family has its own principal and his own moral to follow as a matter of life and death and I wanted to describe the fatal meetings between these two family with the theory that the two family were looking for a way to make peace with each other.
「Yoshitsune grows up through sorrow 」
The relationship with the two important characters:平知盛Tairano Tomonori and 平教経Tairano noritsune?
A friendship is born between Yoshitsune and them but then for political reasons they are forced to fight.
In the previous chapter Yoshitsune is described as a young cheerful boy, almost as a teenager. This time, in the second chapter, the character is more mature and grown up?
To be honest, from the last scene of the previous chapter till the defeat of Heike family only one year has passed. Then after one year after the family defeat Yoshitsune dies. So the world has not changed so much, but it’s also true that Yoshitsune is mentally matured in one year and I want to describe this very well. It’s interesting how he comes out from the strong depression and the crisis after killing his best friend. The encounter with the Heike family helps him grow and change.
This Yoshitsune’s history has something to do with the fundamental themes of your life: real friendship and relationship between people?
So it’s true that the key of this story is true friendship, but for Yoshitsune who’s fighting in war times is very hard to trust other people so I really don’t know.

Regarding the auditions from Hiyori: a demon; once you said you wanted to discover new talents
Yes, it’s something I think since a lot of time now. There are people with talents that haven’t been discovered yet. I hope they can find occasions to get their career started with this project.
What are the qualities to be chosen by you?
Talent. Even if not something perfect and you can see something interesting or special it’s good for me.
Isn’t it hard to pick just one person among a lot of people?
Yes, it’s really hard. Especially if there are more than one interesting person. But it would be even worse if there wasn’t anyone.
Other the the various project in the musical field, cinema and other you are also writing the script. You like to write too?
No… at all!!! When the pen is flowing it’s really good but there are times where I really don’t know what to write. And in those cases, to detach my mind a bit from the writing I always try to talk with people or I study some historical documents, hoping that the inspiration will come to my mind.
How can you have the time to study historical documents???
At night. I basically don’t sleep.
Will there be a lot of action scenes?
Yes for sure. But I really don’t want to do ordinary things. Even action is part of expressing ourselves: for example if someone takes the sword and wield it, it’s because he’s moved from a very strong feeling… so I think that any movement is to express ourselves.
「Making a theatre performance 」
Why did you wanted to do this show so much?
Because acting on the stage is really complex. If you learned to do a beautiful show in theater it means you have developed your expressing skills. The technique of expression that you lear on stage is very precious and experience are an artists’ weapons.
Bein a producer and author of the show is a difficult work?
No. I am also the screenwriter and it’s not a bother for me. Someone told me “you can’t do this in a theatre” but there are not so many limits in theatre. You can’t do ordinary shows with no originality. We are insisting on this style because this is making theatre.
What’s the message in “Yoshitsune hiden chapter 2”?
“You can create your future” the power to create and change your future is in your own hands.
Will you compose also the mane theme and the soundtrack?
Obviously. I’m gonna sleep even less!!!!
