HE’S BACK WITH THE “AKUMU CHAN” MOVIE, THAT BOTH ADULTS AND CHILDREN CAN ENJOY
That’s right. Usually children movies are divided from the adult ones, but this movie can be seen by both and together enjoying it for the different point of views. Even if there are some difficult words for children, I think that the story is easily understandable together with the meaning of the words from the context. Therefore if you can understand the story and you try to listen to it, you’ll slowly understand. On the contrary, adults are caught up by the words and get unexpectedly disoriented. After seeing this movie, I think that it’s even more interesting to see how children understood it and what they think of it.
THERE WERE REACTION FROM CHILDREN WHEN THE DRAMA WAS AIRED?
The producer understood that even if we were using difficult terms, children would be able to understand it anyway and that with a simple story, the new generation would have never get bored. The peculiarity of this movie is exactly that it knows hot to let parents and children enjoy the experience cleverly mixing difficult parts with more easier ones.
WAS IT DECIDED TO MAKE THIS A MOVIE DURING THE DRAMA EPISODES SHOOTING?
Since the audience during the first episode was really good, I heard speeches like “I’m thinking to turn this into a movie”. As the filming went on we used to say “I hope it will become a movie!”. As for the drama, you couldn’t really understand the script from the first moments till the end, if it was to be done in half they would have called a good scriptwriter. When we were discussing how to expand the last part, the movie speech came up, especially because we were evaluating that in the finale we really don’t see very well how it was going to end. So when we reached the last episode, I was conviced that “Ah, this is certainly becoming a movie!”.
WHAT ARE THE SIMILARITY WITH SHIKI TAKASHI, THE CHARACTER YOU PLAYED?
Just like Shiki, I can’t hold back my feelings and I don’t talk fast.
IT LOOKED LIKE THERE WAS A VERY FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE ON THE SET, ARE THERE ANY MOMENTS THAT CAPTURED YOUR ATTENTION?
When Shiki was saying some decisive sentences he used to take off his glasses, usually I don’t do this! It’s something I wasn’t used to, those were some tremendously serious scenes and I always picked the wrong moment, plus my fringe was getting stuck in the sidepiece of the glasses!!! And an “ouch it hurts!” was slipping through my lips, it was not cool at all!
ANYWAY SHIKI HAS BEEN DEFINED AS A WONDERFUL COOK. DID YOU GET USED TO THE COOKING SCENES? DO YOU OFTEN COOK?
I like to cook! But as soon as I try to I get the sensation that cooking is something women do. It’s an atmosphere in which man should not enter, I wish women wouldn’t think about it like this.
When I get told “Men should not enter” I’m always shocked. Looking someone that’s cooking makes me happy.

Exactly. Because I live, I really care about food. I mostly eat once a day. If I think about how long life is, I cut off 10000 meals. But I can’t drink cheap wine.
I HAVE THE IMPRESSION THAT FOOD RESEARCH IS REALLY IMPORTANT FOR GACKT
Exactly. I love meat so much, when I was younger I used to eat a lot of meat, but as time passed, I had to lower the quantity. Even if I eat outside, I change restaurants according to my mood because depending on the places good restaurants are different. Usually to eat a good Ramen, I go to Fukuoka, instead for Horumonyaki I go to Nagoya. Since when I was a child I don’t really like fish very much, I decided to go to the places where you eat it. I only go to Kanazawa and Niigata.
IN THE END, A MESSAGE TO EVERYONE THAT CAN’T WAIT TO SEE “AKUMU CHAN” THE MOVIE:
You can go watch it with your boyfriend, but I’d like you to go with your family, since recently parents are not watching movies with their children anymore. Go with your family, I wish you could all find the bond between parents and children again.
